It’s funny- I’ve been looking for higher-quality images of this Blake Lively photoshoot since the first pictures hit the net a few weeks ago- I even went as far as setting a Google alert for “Blake Lively” “Vogue”. After weeks of scouring the usual sources for hot chick scans, all I have to show for it are these medium-quality scans and still no clue as to what a Blake Lively is. Is she on an MTV reality show? A pro surfer? I know I could use the same search skills I employed to find these images, but who has that much time? I’m too busy cutting these GD words out of these scans to be digging into this girl’s background.
Absolut Vodka has teamed up with Spike Lee for “Absolut Brooklyn”, a red apple and ginger-flavored spirit meant to evoke the feel of BKNY. From the “Spiziked” Swedish dude on the seal to Biggie-inspired quote and brownstone stoop, they imagery definitely evokes “the planet”, but does the drink taste like brooklyn? Well, NOTCOT got a sneak sip, and they say it tastes “a bit Jolly Rancherish”, like that’s a bad thing. Shit, sounds like they got it right- I would’ve settled for “Now & Laterish” or “Jamaican Beef Pattyish”.
Oh man I cannot wait for Summer to start. I know it’s been in the 90s and hundreds for weeks here in Phoenix, but it’s not summer to me until Memorial Day Weekend. Parties, barbecues, all that stuff. Although this cap from Elm doesn’t have a release date yet, it’s a definite pickup, especially considering next week’s release of the Jones Beach AF1. This cap/kick combo has me way too hype for Summer, especially for a Phoenix guy. See how hype I am in a month or so.
Gary Coleman, the Michael Jackson of little kid actors, died today as the result of a brain hemmorhage at the age of 42. Although some might just know him as a reality show-cliche and most just remember him as the “Whatchoo talkin’ ’bout Willis”-saying Arnold Drummond, my mind was literally blown one night on Nick @ Nite when a younger Gary showed up as a Janet Jackson-chasing, smack-talking, two-foot-tall pimp on Good Times. This is how I choose to remember the little guy. And although the embeddable scene below is pretty classic, it’s his first appearance on that episode that floored me.

“Power”, the presumed first single from Kanye’s hotly-anticipated Good Ass Job dropped in the wee hours of the morning today, and it’s pretty GD amazing. Also amazing is the fact that I think Kanye leaked this one just for me. Let me explain.
For Memorial Day Weekend 2007, Kanye & DJ Plain Pat dropped Can’t Tell Me Nothing, a mixtape that compiled a number of Kanye features and remixes, some classic Yeezy rants (porn, magazine covers) and snippets of songs from Graduation (”Stronger”, “Can’t Tell Me Nothing”) that had never before been heard. The mixtape went on to take home “Mixtape of the Year” at the VIBE Awards, and you can listen to it now on DatPiff.
A few weeks ago, it occurred to me that with Yeezy working on new tracks for “Good Ass Job” and this holiday weekend approaching, we might be able to get a taste of the new album, just as we did with his last album release, so I sent @PlainPat a tweet:
@plainpat what’s the chance we can get a “Can’t Tell Me Nothing”-type warmup mixtape this Memorial Day for “Good Ass Job”? Thanks.Sat May 08 02:26:29 via SeesmicSeth P

The highlight of my day so far was the hot receptionist at the doctor’s office. After seeing “Iron Baby” in action, only a Suns victory could put me in a better mood.
